Upset in Georgia
By cement mixer | July 18, 2007
With provisional and military ballots still waiting to be counted, Dr. Paul Broun is leading state Sen. Jim Whitehead by fewer than 400 votes out of almost 47,000 cast in the runoff election in Georgia’s 10th congressional district. The Associated Press calls this a “stunning turnaround” if it holds, since Whitehead beat Broun in the special election last month, 44 percent to 21 percent.
CRNC Treasurer/Georgia CR Chair/Southern belle Esther Clark campaigned for Whitehead.
