Samantha Hill wins second CR Nation poll in high-turnout election

By cr nation | July 29, 2007

Missouri’s Samantha Hill was crowned the best newcomer to the CRNC with an impressive 66 votes. Brian Gwozdz of Massachusetts had strong support, but in the end that was not enough to overtake the popular Ms. Hill. The Land of Lincoln’s favorite son, Patrick Binning, finished in third place. Justin Jordan and Jonathan Bryant had very respectable showings, while Reece Hzurik, Ed Cox and Sean-Tamba Matthew just made it on the scoreboard.

The official CR Nation results (no recounts allowed):

Samantha Hill: 66 votes (29.5%)
Brian Gwozdz: 61 votes (27.2%)
Patrick Binning: 42 votes (18.8%)
Justin Jordan: 26 votes (11.6%)
Jonathan Bryant: 20 votes (8.9%)
Reece Hrizuk: 5 votes (2.2%)
Ed Cox: 2 votes (0.9%)
Sean-Tamba Matthew: 2 votes (0.9%)

Almost 3.5 times more votes were cast this week (224) than last week (66). As opposed to the previous contestants (aka national officers), these rookies understand GOTV operations. Most of them, anyways.

Congratulations to Samantha. An elaborate championship belt (think boxing) is in the mail. Santa Claus will deliver it on the final leg of his “Christmas in July” tour.
