The Butcher seeks to smoke out earmarks in appropriations bills

By sage of monticello | October 4, 2007

According to Congressional Quarterly, Senator Tom Coburn, R-Okla., will offer several amendments “that will force senators to make choices between questionable earmarks and vital priorities.”

This is not the first Tom Coburn has made such a legislative manuever. He did the same thing on the Transportation bill, trying to force Senators into the uncomfortable choice between their own questionalbe earmarks and $ for bridge repair in the wake of the I-35 disaster.
