MI CR blogger, Joe Sylvester, comments on Drwencke allegations
By punch bowl | November 3, 2007
Joe Sylvester, a MI College Republican blogger and college activist, comments on allegations made against David Drwencke, who is running against Justin Zatkoff for MFCR chair.
The following allegations are from Sylvester’s blog, The Michigan Conservative Dossier –
Earlier this afternoon, Justin Zatkoff was at the MSU v UofM Romney tailgate in East Lansing. Why would a staunch McCain hack be at this event? To root for Romney? Or MSU? Neither are likely.
To pass out flyer’s saying that Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis is corrupt. Along with slinging mud on Anuzis he also made corruption accusations against MRP officer, Gerry Mason.
The flyer claims that there is some sort of grand Romney conspiracy to get Dave Drwencke elected College Republican Chair. Currently Dave is involved in some legal proceedings stemming from inappropriate internet posts in regards to his former girlfriend two years ago.

I would much rather have a state chairman that stands up to questionable state party leadership than a chairman whose on trial for committing crimes online harassing girls on the internet.
Joe is a lap dog for MIGOP chair Saul Anuzis (hence the extreme bias of his site) and his blog is nothing more than a malicious tabloid run by an irrelevant (and homosexual) boy who has been unsuccessfully chasing power in the statewide college republican politics for years.

Does Sylvester not see the relevance that Drwencke is being charged with two felonies in Michigan!
And he was released on $10,000 bail! That’s a lot of money… and felonies are no joke. I mean seriously, if this kid is convicted he can’t even vote in Michigan… and Joe still wants him to run the statewide CRs?
What a joke..

Dave will not be convicted of a felony nor is the issue that big when one actually knows what happened. There was no bail paid (it was personal recognizance) and he was never arrested.
QUESTIONABLE STATE PARTY LEADERSHIP?? Are you nuts? Justin is threatening to sue the state party and recall Republican legislators. Is that not questionable?? Actually, it’s not questionable. There is nothing to question, he should be thrown out post haste.
The MRP Chair isn’t in question here, Zatkoff is. And it is highly stupid for you guys to keep attacking someone that can eat you alive.
Anyone that actually knows me knows that I am accountable to no one! Justin does take orders from Yob though!
As far as the homo stuff…put your name on your post…then we’ll talk. I don’t suspect you have the spine to do so.
“Michigan Insider”: it is an issue. Absolutely. Dave’s service to the party is impeccable and reform is needed. It’s not about the person… it’s about the ideas and experience he brings to make that happen.
This is a war of personalities… when it comes down to it… Zatkoff has never worked in politics and has clearly gone off the deep end with his shenanigans. It’s time for a change!

Joe Sylvester Says: 1)Dave will not be convicted of a felony nor is the issue that big when one actually knows what happened. 2)There was no bail paid (it was personal recognizance) and 3)he was never arrested.
Sylvester is wrong.
1) Drewncke confessed to the charges. Only a plea agreement allowed by the prosecutors office and the victim will change the charge from the felony.
“The issue is not that big” Sylvester your a fool.
2) A personal bond is a bond. Ten Thousand dollars would be demanded by the court if Drwencke failed to appear.
3)Drwencke turned himself in to the police department on two felony charges, was booked and was released. That constitutes an arrest.
