Dennis Lennox weighs in on Michigan Drama
By punch bowl | November 5, 2007
For those of you who don’t know Dennis, let me try my best to fill you in.
Dennis is a hard-working conservative (and sometimes controversial) student activist who has run MFCR treasurer in the past and who currently heads up Students Against Gary Peters, a group who opposes Gary’s candidacy for U.S. Representative in light of his teaching contract with Central Michigan University.
Here is what Dennis has to say in regards to the ongoing tic for tat between the Zatkoff and Sylvester/Drwencke camps –
Fellow Republicans,
We are at a crucial point – the 2008 election is upon us and we, as the future leaders, need to come together in unity. We have strayed too far from our core principles – whether it’s corruption in Washington or the ethical issues with our youth organizations in Michigan.
The days of infighting has to end. If we continue to wage these despicable conflicts, the left will swoop to power, implementing Granholm-style governance at the national level. We need to put our past differences aside and work to elect our candidates and promote the centre-right agenda. The politics of personal destruction must end.
It’s time to look back and learn from our mistakes, but we can also learn from others.
We can look at what conservatives have done successfully elsewhere, taking what they have learned and applying it to our challenges without sacrificing our core principles.
Let’s come together to reform the College Republicans.
Sincerely,
Dennis Lennox
Former candidate for MFCR Treasurer

It’s about time someone stands up and says enough is enough. We’re all Republicans; sometimes I think some within the CRs would get along better with opposition in the College Democrats than with their fellow conservative students.

Props to this person for speaking up. Maybe more people should follow Dennis Lennox and actually get involved in causes that make a difference instead of attacking each other and waging civil wars in College Republicans every year over silly and meaningless elections.

Is Dennis running for MFCR chair? This sounds like a campaign launch e-mail.

Why aren’t there more College Republicans like Dennis? I met him at CPAC last year; he was very impressive.
