From College Republican to Candidate. This is the theme of the press release for former College Republican Brett Hooton, which announced to the CR-world his candidacy for state representative in the 29th District of Arkansas.

The press release asks for CR support, stating that –

As a former or current leader among College Republicans, [Brett] knows what hard work and a positive message can achieve

Although asking for CR support, Brett has already accumulated significant backing, including the likes of former candidate for CRNC Chair - Michael Davidson; current Rhode Island Federation Chair - Ryan Bilodeau; and past Arkansas Federation Chair Chase Dugger.

Davidson had this to say of Hooton –

Brett’s race foreshadows something remarkable: that the next wave of conservative leaders are moving in. It means that the future has become the present. We need that transition to be one rich in integrity, competence, and energy. Brett excels in each. I’m honored and excited to support him in his race. I really hope CRs across the country get behind him.

Bilodeau said that –

In the years I have known Brett, he has shown himself to be an extremely hard-working College Republican. If he takes that energy with him on the campaign trail, I think he can win.

Conservatives get there start in College Republicans. There is simply no better place to learn politics at this stage in life.
