Primary Colors: Not another Big-Government “Conservative”
By sage of monticello | December 29, 2007
I can’t support Mike Huckabee. As a conservative, I am for a smaller and less intrusive federal government. A government that honors freedom, reduces regulation, lessens the tax burden, stays out of people’s lives. Mke Huckabee’s message fails on all accounts. His messages indicates that the policies he advocates could accurately classified as so-called “big-government conservatism” which is not really conservativism at all.
He is for higher taxes (look at his record), which creates creates more government and a more intrusive government; and is thus not conservative.
He is for more regulation (look at his populist views on free trade), which creates more government and a more intrusive government; and is thus not conservative.
Our last “compassionate (big-government) conservative” wooed us with a populist message, but with assurances of fiscal responsibility. He has failed us as an economic conservative.
We were fooled once, let’s not get fooled again.
Don’t vote for Mike. Don’t vote for another Big-Government “conservative.”
