Who is “eliza”?
By punch bowl | January 16, 2008
A comment was made by someone with the name “eliza” on Tuesday to a post on the race for chairman of the Texas College Republicans:

Given the turn the organization has taken over the past several years, it is vital that strong leadership is maintained. Clint Peterson has proven time and time again that he is the right man for the job. He has served our state and this federation well and I hope he is the next chairman.
The natural reaction is to assume that the quote came from Eliza Vielma, the former chair of Texas, immediately prior to current chair Justin Jordan. For this reason, CR Nation promptly contacted Ms. Vielma to see if she was, in fact, endorsing Mr. Peterson. Ms. Vielma quickly responded:
I never made any such statement. In fact, I don’t even know what’s going on within TFCR or who the heck would be running for chair.
So if Eliza Vielma’s story is correct, it wasn’t her. But I don’t know a whole lot of Elizas that would be interested in the Texas chairman’s race, other than Eliza Vielma.
Was this an attempt by someone to fake an endorsement? There are still people in Texas with strong feelings for and against Ms. Vielma, and moles indicate that there are more negative than positive feelings about the former chair.
A fake endorsement might be a ploy by the opposing campaign, to drive support away from someone thought to be supported by “eliza.”
Who knows. More CR mystery and intrigue.

What is the point talking about something that isn’t true? Instead of spending time on this TFCR needs to concentrate on getting more chapters involved and making a stronger organization for 2008. As adults, I think we can move past the rumors and trash talking that seems to plague College Republicans.

Anyone who think that Clint Peterson is only 24 is obviously mis-informed, he looks more like a CR advisor than a member.
