CR Alumni: John Burris to run for state rep.

Former Chairman of the Arkansas College Republicans, John Burris, has announced that he is running for state representative. Mr. Burris is running to replace Republican Jim Norton in district 85 located in Boone County of Northeastern Arkansas.
According to the Arkansas Secretary of State’s website, the last state represenative race was in 2002. In that race, the Republican won with 55.11% of the vote. In 2004, Boone county voted Bush by 66%.
Mr. Burris has received the endorsement of five current state represenatives, including the current office holder, Jim Norton.
