Democrats attacking Democrats

By sage of monticello | February 6, 2008

No, I am not talking about Hillary and Obama. I am talking about MoveOn.org’s attacks on “conservative” Democrats.

In an email titled “Make Democrats Accountable,” MoveOn.org encourages its members to band against Rep. Al Wynn (D-MD)

According to MoveOn.org, Rep. Al Wynn has voted against quality, affordable healthcare and for the war in Iraq. To make Wynn accountable, MoveOn has “partnered…to air a new TV ad that contrasts Edwards’ record as a community leader with Wynn’s connections to special interests.”

So, why is MoveOn.org doing this? Well, because a poll tells them so…

In September, MoveOn asked members if taking on “bad” Democrats in Congress should be a priority for this year—over 78% said yes (including CR Nation).

Party unity is a major ingredient of electoral success - the ability to unite constituencies into a voting bloc is critical - and I, for one, am glad that the Democrats are willing to turn a blind eye to the electoral maxim.
