Texas needs a board meeting

By punch bowl | February 19, 2008

Frequent commenter Ryan Murphy writes about Texas board meetings (or lack thereof) on his blog:

We’ve been told that we’ll have a meeting next month and the notice will be sent soon, but as yet we have not been given any specific dates or received our mandatory notice. To remind everyone, our TFCR constitution states that a notice must be sent to SCREC members 30 days prior to the meeting.

It’s an unfortunate case of more of the same.

As of this writing, the TFCR has not held a meeting in 323 days. This violates the constitution in a multitude of ways, specifically in that we are obligated to hold state-wide meetings twice every semester and that the dates and locations of these meetings are to be announced in a “timely manner” following the conclusion of our convention.

Murphy proposes that chapter chairs call the meeting on their own. He also has ideas for future board meetings, such as conference calls and gas reimbursement.

Punch Bowl, what’s with your fascination with intra-federation drama? Whenever there’s a post about-or creating- state fed drama (MI, MA, IL, TX, etc.), it’s you who wrote it. Literally- every single time.

Well, this case doesn’t necessarily fit into that category, but his post reminded me that I’d been meaning to ask the question for awhile.
