Supreme Court likely to rule in favor of gun rights

By sage of monticello | March 18, 2008

The Financial Times reports:

The US Supreme Court appears ready to rule that Americans have a constitutional right to keep a gun in their home for self-defence, a ruling that could help Republicans in the upcoming presidential election.

Hearing the most important gun rights case in nearly 70 years, the justices on Tuesday spent 98 minutes engrossed in a lively debate about British and American legal traditions relating to the right to bear arms, especially in self-defence.

Since no one’s talked about Blake Harris, let me be the first to opine. Davidson guys on the CRNC… I like. Reform guys on the CRNC however… dangerous. What happened last year is that a select handful of state chairs became frustrated because they weren’t able to raise Michael P. Davidson-levels of cash in their home states, thus robbing them of their plans to brag their way to the national chairman’s desk.

That’s what Real Reform was about. It wasn’t about fixing the CRNC or holding people accountable or building our College Republican chapters. It was about corporate welfare, it was about giving financial support to former Davidson supporters so they could advance themeselves. You wanna run for national chairman? Great, but don’t F*** up our national organization just to get yourself ahead.
