Michigan’s largest chapter leaves MFCR

A CR Nation mole along with my favorite CR blogger, Joe Sylvester, are reporting that Michigan State University College Republicans disaffiliated themselves with the statewide College Republicans organization during a meeting held Wednesday evening on the campus.
They are the fourth College Republicans chapter in the state to withdraw this spring.
Can anyone explain why these clubs are dropping out?
Whats sorta sad about this whole thing is that those clubs are mad at Dan Carlson, much less so Zatkoff, who just likes to take pictures of himself with questionable women. Zatkoff is taking the fall for someone else.
Whats sadder is watching Charlie Smth act as if Carlson is responsible for Michigan’s ’success’. Oooh look at me, I wrote an amendment to make Gourley pay. I’m totally ethical now!
Michigan State dropped out because of STORM. The Chairman, Ben Morlock, was upset because “Zatkoff” created a profile for him on STORM (without Ben’s permission).
Although, we all know CRNC created profiles for every state chair and chapter chair in the country, right?
A lot of Michigan CR’s are sick and tired of the political gamesmanship and dirty tricks used by Zatkoff, Carlson and the rest of the regime. It’s starting to show because the Chuck Yob machine is too busy with McCain to focus on their young lieutenants. People want change. They don’t want a chairman who lies, runs an illegal political group (they are not a legal PAC), doesn’t disclose money and likes to take amateur porn with CR girls.
CRs in Michigan also want action. They are sick of not having any events. Zatkoff was too busy helping McCain AND LOSING HIS OWN STATE IN THE PRIMARY to hold any coordinated events this year. The most they did was the Young America’s Foundation 9/11 project and we all know that is kind of a joke.
It’s worth pointing out that MFCR loses state elections. ‘04 for Bush, ‘06 for DeVos’ governor campaign and ‘08 for McCain primary. They never win.
What a ludicrous reason to drop out. Sounds like STORM is going over big in Michigan.
If that is true, that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard of.
No one wants to affiliate with someone that threatened to sue the state GOP Chair and has called him corrupt. He’s a young loose cannon and no one will stand with him.
I want to know who all these comments are claiming they want change and that claim to know the inner workings of Michigan CR politics.
Isn’t Joe Sylvester that fat kid who has already graduated from college? Why is he still involved in CR stuff? What is it with all these Michigan people? They’re all the nutty activist type.
Sounds to me like Sylvester needs to find a career and get on with his life.
As for the clubs dropping out, they probably realize what a joke the national and state college republican organizations really are. Most CRs just want to have fun and spend time with like-minded people. They don’t want to get involved with the losers like Dan Carlson who want to play petty-activist or bottom-feeder their entire lives.

I didn’t make the comments at 3:28, just want to clarify that. I’m sure there are lots of people named Thomas. Having said that… hey guys, if Zatkoff created a fake profile for any of you, I think you would take great offense to that. About Morlock: he’s had lots of better reasons to leave MFCR before today, and that’s my only qualm with any this is.
On a positive note, I want to point out that if Sylvester’s turnout numbers are accurate, then MSUCR has the largest weekly traffic of any CR chapter I’m aware of. It kinda scares me to hear talk of “if this kid is re-elected,” because he should be a complete shoo-in with those numbers.
My school gets about 65-70 if we have something to do.
If you are a CR in Michigan, there’s one thing all sides are able to say honestly:
Anything Sylvester says is either a lie or at least in someway being dishonest. Ask just about anyone in Michigan; in fact I’d be interested to find one CR in Michigan that stood up for him and stated anything productive Sylvester has ever accomplished.
Say whatever you want about JS, there is a lot of issues with Zatkoff. He’s a whore.
How is Zatkoff a whore?
These personal attacks against Zatkoff would carry a lot more weight if the people lobbing these attacks didn’t hide in obscurity and anonymity behind a computer screen.
I’m just saying…
He repeatedly has his way with women. We’re suppose to be the party of the Moral Majority. People like Zatkoff are the reason why Republicans are losing control. We no longer have morals.
Ryan, you are correct that the personal attacks on Zatkoff are uncalled for.
There is a difference between comparisons and shining the sun on questionable moral and ethics practices and attacks against an individual’s personal life. Our party campaigns on social conservative issues, and if we don’t do what we preach, then you should be exposed.
Let’s not forget Justin Zatkoff lied to police in ‘06 when he was drinking underage and got beat up by friends. He claimed black radicals did it because he opposed affirmative action.
