Ventura drops out of MACR race for chairman

By punch bowl | April 7, 2008

In a letter sent to CR Nation, Jacob Ventura, the current executive director of the MA CRs, has dropped his bid to replace Brian Gwozdz as chairman of MACR.

An excerpt from Mr. Ventura’s letter:

After Brian Gwozdz withdrew from the race for chairman, he urged me to replace him on the slate. I thank him for the confidence he has placed in me to lead the organization.

However, after days of deliberation, I believe it is time for us to pass the torch on to a new and dedicated team that will lead this organization into the 2008 election cycle this autumn. It is important that the members of the MACR and its chapters continue to work together in an attempt to achieve continued success. I urge all of our supporters to unite at the convention for a common purpose in electing new leadership. I thank you all for your support.

As Brian stated in a previous letter, he as well as I will continue to serve the College Republican organization in some capacity in the future and continue to fully participate and aid in furthering the conservative movement.

I can say with the utmost confidence that the organization is in much better shape today than it was one year ago. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who has aided in the progress of our organization over the past 12 months and I look forward to wishing the new leadership the best of luck heading into the election season.

Gwozdz isn’t running. Ventura isn’t running. Who is?

Trevor is a joke. He will not get elected if “they” have anything to say about it.

It should be noted to the rest of the nation that the MACR consist of two factions: one crazy girl from Western MA named Samantha Lewis with little to no backing and the rest of the CR population including Gwozdz and his team and Lockman and her team as well as even her opponent Trevor. The only odd ball in this mix is Sam Lewis who has a personal vendetta against Brian.

The rest of the nation needs to take note that the MACR is actually a very unified organization. I would encourage the writers here to ignore this crazy girl.
