Input wanted on chapter boxes
By punch bowl | April 23, 2008
CRNC Executive Director Ethan Eilon is asking for your input on what should be included in this fall’s chapter boxes. In a post on the official CRNC blog, Eilon wrote:
We are pulling together our orders for the Fall 2008 chapter boxes and would love to hear ideas from you guys about what would help you get the job done. Email any suggestions to info@crnc.org with the subject line “Chapter Box” or leave a comment below.
This is a great opportunity for you to improve what is already a very helpful program. I can’t remember a CRNC administration every asking for input like this before, and the change is refreshing. If you don’t contact Ethan or comment on this post now, there is no room for complaining later.
My input: There should be a CR Nation brochure in every chapter box.

They should take a page out of Ryan Clumpner’s playbook and put Ronald Reagan cardboard standups in there. FLYERS: They should advertise the CRNC field program and include pictures of what it is they do; they should also advertise CRNC internships. They should have some subliminal message in there about how we’re going to have a “National Convention” next summer that’s going to be a lot of fun and how all chapter chairs should try and go. They should advertise CPAC. They should explicitly encourage chapters to hit the CRNC fax machine or email whenever they’re doing something sweet. They should advertise STORM and what its capable of. Heck, maybe they should include a CD-ROM with the video of Ethan telling those Illinois CRs about STORM’s capabilities.
This last suggestion is gonna amaze you: they should deftly tell chapters to make sure they apply for a budget from their university. I am AMAZED how many chapters don’t take this simple step.
