Despite end of semester, MI CRs volunteer
By punch bowl | May 6, 2008
This past weekend, over 40 Michigan College Republicans gathered in Jackson County to volunteer on a Congressman’s re-elect campaign.
Literature was distributed to over 2,700 voters’ households.
Following their door to door, volunteers were joined by State Committeewoman Lola Peterson (and her dog, Bo), who spoke about working together to spread our message via new technology & letters to the editor.
This weedend’s volunteer effort came on the heels of a similar weekend three weeks ago where over 75 College Republicans hit over 2,000 doors for 9th District Congressman Joe Knollenberg in Michigan’s other battleground Congressional race.
Both of these events were led by our State College Republican Chairman, Justin Zatkoff, who, some say, has turned the Michigan College Republicans into a model CR organization.

Waits for anonymous comments bashing Zatkoff….

Justin Zatkoff is the worst person in the entire history of the world!
He’s brain-washed all these people into coming to his events!

Congrats to Justin and all those involved!!
Great to see that even though he is being attacked from all sides, he can still get things accomplished.

What a tenacious bunch, those Michigan CRs. Last time is was raining and now they are going the week of exams. Most productive federation in the nation!

I may think Zakoff is a moron, but that is impressive getting 75 people to work for free.
I am certainly impressed.

For those people outside Michigan, it’s impressive to see so many people turning out. But let’s not remember that these events were organized more by Michigan Republican Party Youth Chairman Matt Hall and not MFCR Chairman Justin Zatkoff. Hall and Zatkoff are best buddies, and Hall is trying to help Zatkoff’s PR by giving him this credit.
As everyone knows, Zatkoff is disliked for a lot of well deserved reasons. It’s not terribly difficult to get out 40 or 75 kids when Walberg and Knollenberg are two of the most important congressional races in the country! Kids will put their differences aside to come out and help a congressman, get a photo with him and feel important.

Get a life, you guys. Give Justin some credit for goodness sake. End of the year, during exams, and draws 75 people to volunteer for free. I tip my hat to him.

What schools? MSU, CMU, U-M, SVSU, LSSU, NMU, WSU, WMU all ended a week earlier.

Where does “during exams” get their info…. I had exams at MSU that week… and moved out of my dorm a day early so I could attend with the MFCR.

This is funny. Only Joe Sylvester and Dennis Lennox are still wasting their time attacking Zatkoff.

That was also MSU and CMU’s graduation day but both schools still attended.

Sylvester is behind everything. I think he has a crush on Justin Zatkoff.
