McCain’s Sponsorship of Law Creates Interesting Politics

By lace | May 12, 2008

Over the past few months, Hillary Clinton has loaned herself $11 million to continue the mud slinging at Obama. However, if we had any doubt that Hillary would stay in the running until after the convention, a provision of the McCain-Feingold Act will certainly hold her there as long as possible.

The McCain-Feingold Act prohibits candidates from raising money to repay themselves for personal loans after the conventions …if the candidate has dropped out.

If you are like me, I am tired of the question “will Hillary continue?” We all know she will…now she is even bound by the game of “financial play-it-smart.” Of course, Hillary has options if she did drop out; her husband could make a few speeches.
