CR Alumni: President Calvin Coolidge

As this blog post points out, while at Amherst College in 1892 Coolidge joined the College Republicans.

I have seen lists of CR alumni before, and I knew that the CRNC was founded in 1892, but I did not realize that one of my favorite U.S. presidents was a CR. Thanks for spotlighting this!
Upon assuming office, President Ronald Reagan had a portrait of President Coolidge hung the White House Cabinet Room, in place of Harry Truman’s.
I wish we had more GOP leaders like Presidents Coolidge and Reagan around today!!
