Where Is The Red?
By punch bowl | June 26, 2008
Short answer: Coast to coast baby!
And there is an awesome group of CRs who are going to road trip it! That’s right, a group of truly rocking CRs is going coast to coast without ever leaving a Republican Congressional district!
And the best part: YOU can follow their trip!
Just visit WhereIsTheRed.com to see what Jeremy, Christie and Kerry are up to! They have GPS in their car, so you always know where they are; and each of them have their own blog, so you always know what they are thinking.
The purpose of the trip is to hammer home the point that the Republican party is a coast-to-coast party, showing the wide-ranging appeal of our message and beliefs, as well as proving our ability to represent many diverse groups of people.
Additionally, in each congressional district Jeremy, Christie and Kerry will volunteer because that is simply what CRs do! By the time they are done, they will probably be able to say that they have volunteered on more than 100 different campaigns.
Christie and Kerry are very excited about the trip and they want to be excited too. So, here is a message that they specifically asked me to share with you:
Hey CRs -
This summer the two of us–along side our friends Jeremy and Chris–are traveling across the country without ever leaving a Republican district to show everyone that our party is a coast to coast party. Democrats couldn’t do that if they tried!
We’ll be traveling from Florida, to Ohio, to California talking to voters and volunteers, CRs and candidates all about what our party is doing in 2008 and seeing what makes this nation amazing. The best part is, you can follow the whole trip, see what we see, and keep in touch with us as we take on this awesome journey. Check us out today at http://www.whereisthered.com.
Its going to be an exciting adventure, and we really want you along for the ride!

1. The web-site is not compatible with IE…crnc can you get on top of that?
2. Jeremy is bound to hook up with one of the two girls…any bets on who it’ll be?
3. If they are staying in all red districts, that implies they’re only really helping incumbents…shouldn’t they be focusing on some races where we are hoping to pick up a seat?

from what i understand they simply have to “touch” enough red districts to make all the dots (er, borders) connect, so they can make some trips into blue districts to help challenger GOPers too.
that said, there will be plenty to do in red districts this year as well…

Actually we will be helping some congressional candidate looking to retake seats. The catch is, we aren’t relying on them to complete our purely red path. In other words, we will diverge to help contender as long as we can hop right back on the coast-to-coast path.
For example in Ohio, after passing through the two Columbus congressional districts (OH-15) and (OH-12) we will diverge in OH-18. We will help Fred Dailey who is looking to retake former Republican Congressman Bob Nay’s seat from Democrat Zach Space. After helping Dailey out, we will dart right back into OH-12, go north into Jim Jordan’s district (OH-4) and then move up into Canton, Ohio, home of Congressman Ralph Regula (OH-16). Another challenger we are helping… off the top of my head, is former Kansas Congressman Jim Ryun, who lost his seat in 06 in a hard fought race.
We are also going to current Republican districts that have retiring congressman, such OH-16, and helping the candidates there, in this case, Kirk Schuring.

Not only are they going to congressional districts with incumbents, whether those incumbents be Republican or Democrat, but they are also heading to some open seats.
For instance, I know they will be in MO-09, which is an open seat formerly occupied by Congressman Kenny Hulshof who is now running for Governor.
