As was reported here earlier today, the CRNC scheduled a conference call tonight with the field reps it hired for this year’s fall field program.

CRNC field director Will Crosswell tells me that the call went “smoothly” and it functioned as an open forum for the field reps to discuss with the CRNC the the training agenda in late August and the day-to-day “whats” and “hows” of the program.

At one point on the call Mr. Crosswell was asked “why it is so cool to be a College Republican in 2008?” He answered:

…in a year where the media is drinking the Kool Aid of Barack Obama, you have a chance to prove that the youth are passionate about our party and our candidate John McCain, and are actively going from state to state, mobilizing our generation to vote Red

Good answer. I never liked kool aid much…

CR candidate Mike Hahn, who is running for the state house in WI, has been called up for active duty.
Hahn is a guardsman with Beloit’s 1158th Transportation Company.

Despite his activation, Hahn still plans on continuing his campaign, saying “Just because I’m out of the country doesn’t mean I won’t be in touch with voters.”

CR Nation wishes Mike a successful and safe tour of duty and good luck in his campaign.
