State Chair Watch: Greg Baker
By punch bowl | July 13, 2008
Like a good state chair, Greg Baker was at his state’s convention today.
As an IA blog reports, Mr. Baker was working the lobby of the convention trying to get some money for campus voter registration drives.
His pitch to potential donors read something like this:
New same day registration laws will likely turn out young voters in record numbers and the ICFR wants to make sure these numbers are in our favor. Obama currently has an upper hand in the youth vote… (and) failing to respond to the youth movement crisis could greatly jeopardize our ability to win this fall.
Interestingly, according to this blog, Mr. Baker admits that McCain probably won’t win on IA campuses, but he thinks McCain will do better than other Republicans would have.
Ultimately, however, Mr. Baker thinks IA will be in the GOP column.
