Steele wins RNC vote

It took six ballots, but Michael Steele, former Maryland Lt. Governor, emerged as the next chairman of the Republican Nation Committee and the first African American to Chair the organization.

A late endorsement by fellow African American Ken Blackwell may be what put Steele over the top.

Interestingly enough Mike Duncan, who was rumored to be the strongest candidate going into the vote, was the first out of the race…

Campaign Manager Bails On Former CRNC Intern

It is being reported that Lance Robinson’s campaign manager, Jud Seymour, has left the campaign.

Mr. Robinson is currently running to become the next Chairman of the College Republican National Committee (CNRC).

Several state chairs speculate that Mr. Seymour “saw the writing on the wall,” as Mr. Robinson, it’s said, is having problems picking up even the slightest amount of support.

Virgina holds convention, Maxwell new Chair

On Saturday, the Virginia College Republicans held their convention. New leadership was elected and is as follows:

Chairman: Kate Maxwell
1st Vice Chair: Matt Wolking
2nd Vice Chair: Ray Boyce
Treasurer: Jadan Horyn
Secretary: Kelly McCain

Race in my opinion should not be a consideration for the election. But if the nation can celebrate the first African-American president, it would seem to me that it would be good for the Republican Party to have the opportunity to celebrate our first African-American chairman.
