Adam Ellison has announced has announced his intentions to run for Chairman of the CA College Republicans, but not as a third ticket, but as the chair candidate for the second ticket previously announced on this blog. Apparently, Mr. Ellison took Mr. Myers spot at the head of the ticket.

Below is the e-mail sent to CR Nation announcing his decision to run as the chair candidate for whatever ticket he is on:

My fellow College Republicans and those committed to the Conservative cause,

My name is Adam Ellison and I am humbled by the opportunity to communicate with you tonight. As a native Californian, a Republican, and not the least of which an American citizen, I have great concern for not only the direction of our country, but the direction of the GOP. Each one of us has the opportunity to pursue the reforms we desire. I believe that if given the chance to advance a group’s ideals, it becomes a civic duty to act. Here in California, I can think of no better time than the present to do just that. Many of us have seen the turmoil in Sacramento and amongst the parties throughout the state. As College Republicans, we are one of the very first lines of offense for the Republican Party in California.

Having been a California College Republican for the last four years, I have come to know and appreciate our role as the youth on the front lines. Over the years, promises have been made to reform and advance our organization. Some promises have been met with due diligence; unfortunately, many others have not. I have been blessed with the trust of my friends and colleagues to serve as Chairman of the University of the Pacific’s CR chapter for the last three years. As a senior, I took a semester to pursue career training as a local nonprofit executive and campaign manager. I looked at the California College Republicans from that outside perspective and I realized that, now more than ever, we have a responsibility to leave this organization better than we found it.

After careful consideration, I have decided to declare myself a candidate for Chairman of the California College Republicans. I am honored to be accompanied by a team whose leadership and action in the College Republicans might only be matched by their dedication to the Conservative cause. It begins here; it begins now. California must rise and become a red state once again.

Please join the movement and become an agent of the result you wish to see. Visit our website, to be officially launched in its completion in early February, at RedStateRising.org. I thank you for your leadership and for all that you do.

Best Regards,

Adam C. Ellison
Candidate for Chairman, California College Republicans

I don’t know or care about the California race, but I did want to comment on this guy saying he is “humbled by the opportunity to communicate” with people he sent an unsolicited email to. If only telemarketers were so friendly.

“become an agent of the result you wish to see” replace the word result with “change” and this sounds like pure Obama emptiness to me. Early febuary is almost two weeks away, why not launch the site sooner, and give us more than empty rhetoric?

Third slate huh? I commented earlier on the 2nd slate, but I think this is great for CCR. It doesn’t resemble Obama rhetoric at all, its another alternative to the lousy, do nothing previous CCR boards. And this “Revolutionize CCR” should welcome the challenge.

I agree with SoCalCCR, I hope “Revolutionize CCR”welcomes a challenge, and recognizes the importance of an open debate on the future of CCR. But the danareport blog says that this is the same second slate, only mixed up with Ellison running for chair now… don’t know but maybe you should check it out.

Know what is always funny about the “lousy, do nothing previous boards”, they always do more than the people who complain about them not doing anything.

The people who have a problem with “lousy, do nothing previous boards” are TRYING to make a change by running in this upcoming election. The past three CR boards have made all sorts of promises and haven’t done much. Activate the Blog hasn’t been updated in almost a year, we were supposed to be receiving monthly Moxie E-Newsletters, and this “Speakers Program” that Revolutionize has on their platform is something that has been promised since Ryan Clumpner’s ActivateCCR (and if I remember correctly, that was ripped straight off the TakeBackCCR platform), but has still yet to happen. Like everybody else has said, Revolutionize CCR should welcome this challenge, and CRs across California should pay close attention to this race if they want their organization to be taken seriously in the future.

The danareport was totally incorrect in its announcement of the slate in Ben Myers. Stay Tuned.. CCR should be the battleground for ideas in the upcoming months. CCR has been stale this past year and should implement new ideas. “Revolutionizeccr.com” rather states old ideas and repackages them.

To the 6th post. “Not Exactly Pat…” im curious who you are. you are exactly correct. Im excited there is another slate of candidates that are not hand selected by the preceeding people in power. Revolutionize has taken notes from TakebackCCR. speakers program, monthly moxie newsletters. Revolutionize has a real challenge, actual ideas that will be implemented.

I’ve been checking the DanaReport regulary since I first saw it on CR Nation. They had the correct line-up with Ellison on top hours before CR Nation posted it.

Anonymous comment alert!! Same theme, slightly different wording = coming from the same person. Ignore that trash, no name = no credibility. Both sides need to knock it off.

Leigh, people criticize anonymously because we get persecuted by many of YOUR buddies that run CCR if we say we feel they’re not doing their job. Saying “both sides need to knock it off” is ridiculous… being in opposition to the (ineffective) way things are run is not a bad thing. I’m the same person that left the “Not Exactly, Pat…” comment, and I didn’t come back and respond to my own post pretending to be someone else, because that would be ridiculous. But it’s not right to call my original post “trash” just because I’m not comfortable attaching my name to it. Because you know what happens if I put my real name? If RevolutionizeCCR wins, I’ll be excluded from assisting the organization at the statewide level and won’t be able to help work for reform… not a gamble I’m willing to take. It’s hard to take on your peers and I’m proud of Ellison’s team for stepping up to the plate. CCR would be lucky to have them lead our organization.

“The people who have a problem with “lousy, do nothing previous boards” are TRYING to make a change by running in this upcoming election.”

…Funny how those people “trying to make a change” MUST be on the board before they will lift a finger. Maybe if they actually worked before getting elected we would not be having this battle.

As the editor of Moxie for the past year I can tell you we have printed more copies of Moxie this year than in any year since I have been in College Republicans. The quality and content of the production has increased dramatically, and and we are producing volumes exactly on schedule.

I have always reached out across the state in search of contributors and made it well known when I was in need of material, and no one running on the RedStateRising slate has ever written an article for Moxie while I have been editor or assisted in fundraising in any way.

In contrast, nearly every member of the Revolutionize CCR slate has not only contributed articles, but also assisted with production and design, and provide all necessary fundraising.

Perhaps if the members of the RedStateRising slate and their supporters were more willing to contribute to the production I would have been able to produce monthly online distributions.

i just wanted to say you’re all retarded

“If RevolutionizeCCR wins, I’ll be excluded from assisting the organization at the statewide level and won’t be able to help work for reform… not a gamble I’m willing to take.”

Really? Have Matt Schenk or Jacki DiMarchi (two previous losing candidates who did not graduate after the last election) been excluded from anything they wished to participate in? Has SacState, a school that previously supported the last losing slate, been ignored, because I hear their people worked hard and proved themselves, and they now have two spots on the RevolutionizeCCR slate? Were Adam Ellison and Nick Pagnucci excluded, because I hear they went out for drinks with members of the RevolutionizeCCR slate an hour after Ellison challenged RevolutionizeCCR. Has UCLA been excluded, because I hear the RevolutionizeCCR candidate for Co-Chair, and current LA Region Vice-Chair, called all the schools in her area, even the ones opposing her, and explained to them that they are still in her region and if they need any help to call her. Trust me, I heard one of the voicemails she left. You can’t use the same old “I’ll be excluded” arguments with people who clearly do not exclude anyone, perhaps even people they should have…

Oh man guys. So dramatic. No need to personally bash anyone on either side.

Having two slates running is healthy for the organization and I’m excited to see how it plays out. How about we all just realize we’re ultimately fighting for same principles and play nice? =)

AMEN Alyse, Crs have to be one of the most dramatic bunch since high school days.

It appears dramatic because it is important, this is the future of our party and College Republicans are at the heart of the conservative movement. So when someone has some potential and a couple good ideas, but then does something like get title hungry or run because they feel left out, than all they do is cost the organization valuable time and money that could be better spent, and most likely they leave their own club in disarray. I mean, how much time and effort did you spend on TakeBackCalCRs Alyse, and how did your club do afterwards?

Dear anonymous I find your bases for an argument here completely wrong. your statement above says that”when someone has some potential and a couple good ideas, but then does something like get title hungry or run because they feel left out”, This isn’t about titles, or about being left out. If you look closely to the races two years ago, you will notice that the “new” ideas, were actually takeback’s, not revolutionize. The speakers program was takebacks, and this last year I never noticed it. Transparency was never established either, neither was communication. I never knew how to write to moxie or knew who our chair was until about 6 months ago, when I searched on Google. Is that how we are to find those in charge of our organization by google??? If it is then the establishment has done their job correctly then. Communication failed.

Its healthy for an organization to have competition. without it, we would have to pay triple the prices in gas, electricity, and whatever else that’s being moderated by competition.

As for clubs falling apart because of state races. I find this ridiculous. There is no reason that a club should suffer, or friendships either, because of a race. If the club or friendship ends because of a silly thing as ccr races, then it wasn’t a strong relationship or club, and second you both are extremely immature. I’m with Alyse on this that all of this has gotten to be too much like high school. If I wanted to still be in high school I wouldn’t have graduated on time.
I say that we quiet ripping everyone a part, we state the facts, we ALL grow up and realize that we are all republicans no matter what, and in the end should support each other. We are all a part of a club that stands for a better world, lets start being that beacon, so when its our time to take the party we are looked back on as the generation that saved the republican party and we win America back, not the democrats.

Anybody would be better than the current CA leadership.

I am well aware that it is important, I just don’t think everybody needs to be attacking each other personally. It’s not fair to say that it’s okay for one group to run but when another decides to challenge, they are “title hungry.”

If you’d like to criticize my club specifically it would be nice if you would come out and say who you are instead of hiding behind anonymity. My running for statewide office did not had a negative impact on the CSUF club; we weren’t a huge powerhouse club to begin with, we always just had a small handful of dedicated people who would turn out to things like GOTV.

From now on we shall all address the Ellison slate as:

EntitlementCCR: “You work, We’ll lead from back here.”

ann thayer the reason that those things were prob lacking, especially in father off regions, is that the teams put to much effort into the competition and when it was over there was nothin more to give from either side. As far as the ideas go, the ideas are never really that new cause there aren’t that many ways to do things, it is all about how to do the ideas. And something isn’t a personal attack just because it is an attack.

Just so everyone gets this right, Revolutionize is not running against TakebBackCCR, they are running against Red State Rising. TakeBackCCR ran against Activate two years ago and lost and last year the slate was Innovate. Second a lot of people on the new slate for Revolutionize, like myself, were never on the slate for Activate. I would appreciate it if people are going to criticize constantly online at least get your simple facts straight.
Thank You

If you have facts to back up what you’re saying about a slate or an individual, then by all means, go ahead. It becomes personal when you start calling people names (“title grabbers”), saying things that are untrue (CSUF’s club suffered from me running two years ago), and making stupid remarks like Adam Ellison’s slate should be called “Entitlement CCR.” Like Falicia said, “if people are going to criticize constantly online at least get your simple facts straight.” And as I said, stop hiding behind anonymity. It’s cowardly.

Dear Misunderstood cr’s,
Obviously my first comment was completely ignored since you’re all still arguing over something that should have ended. There have been several comments made since I last wrote and I have to say I’m disappointed that you all took things in the wrong way, so in this comment I will try and be more precise.
First, as for what Slate Name Idea wrote, “From now on we shall all address the Ellison slate as: EntitlementCCR: “You work, We’ll lead from back here.”” What evidence do you have that Red State Rising won’t work for the organization? I know for a fact that none of us have their personal resumes, so assuming that they won’t work is a joke. Talk to the rest of us when you get those documents and check on their personal references. I also clearly remember stating that we should quit ripping each other apart, or do you not understand english? I could trying using spanish “debemos parar el rasgarnos aparte”. How about german “wir sollten, auseinander uns zu zerreißen beendigen”. I can even try korean “우리는 따로따로 찢는 종료해야 한다”. Now that we have removed the language barrier, lets move on.
Second, Anonymous, I have to state that there is lack of creativity in your soul. You say “As far as the ideas go, the ideas are never really that new cause there aren’t that many ways to do things”. I disagree with you on this. This is a constant problem in politics that we see daily. People are so afraid of new ideas and new innovations that it isn’t funny. My question for Revolutionize is this, why do you keep stealing ideas from others, who are actually innovative, and using them as your own? Falicia, you’re right that you are not running against Take Back, you’re running against people who are new, and who are not corrupt by the current establishment, and have fresh ideas for not only CCR, but also for the party. I currently feel that the Revolutionize slate is the reason why so many Republicans in California lost their seats in the last electoral elections.

Finally, should we as intelligent adults, have to sit back and take threats, a lack of communication, and name calling from people who claim to want to improve a state organization. Before any of this was started, before Red State Rising, before all these blogs, many of us had heard accusations such as these. Before even rumors of a second slate began, I had read and heard about even more worrisome issues. I heard stories about the Admin Vice Chair of Revolutionize from other clubs and started questioning whether or not she had the proper qualities required to be a real leader. I’m sorry, but using her current position as Southern Region Vice Chair to have others threaten clubs and individuals is inexcusable!

Or you’re just a jerk?

You cannot be serious about not knowing how to write for moxie… If you feel left out, it must be from not trying hard enough. CCR has a website, collegegop.org, if you click the moxie link, the second paragraph asks CR’s for input and tells you where to e-mail your articles, not very difficult. The best way not to feel left out is to get involved, not to complain about it.

@ Hansen
as for the Falicia calling LA region club Chairs, I received a call from Falicia a number of days ago. While I thought it was in the spirit of co-operation, it also saddened me, I haven’t heard from Falicia an Individual I considered (perhaps erroneously) to be a friend, since early august. This is one of the myriad reasons that there is dissatisfaction in in the current leadership of Cr’s.

Marshall H. Roe

cant we just stop posting on a crnation website to bash one another? This is just what we need a pointless cr election to ruin friendships, cant we all just run a campaign without personal attacks, or is CRs just the stepping stones for regular politics where everything is allowed?

Why does Marshall H. Roe have to come in and PEE ALL OVER everyone’s parade.

Anonymous comment alert!! Same theme, slightly different wording = coming from the same person. Ignore that trash, no name = no credibility. Both sides need to knock it off.

um, what? Why did someone copy and paste my previous comment under my name? It’s obviously a relevant comment, but i dont like the idea that someone else is posting under my name!

I find it very funny that Chris Hansen doesn’t want anymore CR support! How are you going to make up for the lack of volunteers? Chris if they do win and you need their support do you think they’re going to want to volunteer for you? Why would you even say that? I mean your only a staffer for city councilman. Also when in the past have you assisted the organization prior to last year?

Go Bears!
