On his blog and in an e-mail to the National Board, Zach Howell, candidate for CRNC Chair, has made another ticket announcement, announcing Brand Kroeger as his choice for CRNC Treasurer. From the e-mail:
Brand is one of our organization’s best and strongest leaders. He didn’t allow DC’s hopelessly liberal electorate to keep him from getting great things done for the Republican Party and the conservative movement. Instead, during the 2008 cycle, he rounded up hundreds of volunteers from Washington and sent them to places all over the country where they could aid the Party’s election efforts. These volunteers made more than 110,000 voter contacts. For these and other amazing accomplishments while Brand has been involved, the DC Federation was recognized as the nation’s “Best College Republican Federation”, and the George Washington University was named the “Best Chapter”
Just as importantly, Brand is an honest, trustworthy individual. I’m sure those of you who know Brand will agree with me that he is someone who will carry out his important duties as Treasurer in an open, honest and transparent way.
Mr. Kroeger is the current Federation Chairman of the D.C. College Republicans.
As the title of this post indicates, Mr. Howell also released another section of his platform.

In our latest poll we asked how much experience is necessary to run for CRNC Chairman. Your answer: more experience than just a chapter chair. College Republicans clearly believe that more experience than being a chapter chair is necessary to run for CRNC Chairman.
A mere 15 votes of the 169 cast – less than 10% – believe that being a chapter chair is enough experience to run for CRNC Chairman.
Whereas the overwhelming majority, 91%, believe that MORE experience is needed, such as being a State Chairman or a CRNC officer.
Currently running for CRNC Chair is Ben Stewart, a chapter chair from Arizona State University; and Zach Howell, a former chapter chair and state chair from Utah and the current CRNC Western Regional Vice-Chair.

A message from Tierra Warren, CRNC Deputy Executive Director:
Just wanted to send out a reminder that there is one week left in the contest for FREE hotel rooms for your delegates at convention. The state that registers the most students by this Friday at midnight will win free rooms for their delegates. I understand that you don’t know how many delegates you’ll receive but that is what makes this prize so great. Hotel rooms at the Marriott are $182 a night so this is a huge money saver.

The Notre Dame College Republicans sign on to a statement in opposition Obama delivering the 2009 Spring Commencement address. In doing so the ND CRs reaffirmed there commitment to the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of life, which, in part, stated:
Each year more than three million American teenagers contract sexually transmitted diseases, causing emotional harm and serious health consequences, even death. We support efforts to educate teens and parents about the health risks associated with early sexual activity and provide the tools needed to help teens make healthy choices. Abstinence from sexual activity is the only protection that is 100 percent effective against out-of-wedlock pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including sexually transmitted HIV/AIDS. Therefore, we support doubling abstinence education funding. We oppose school-based clinics that provide referrals, counseling, and related services for contraception and abortion.
