The Notre Dame College Republicans sign on to a statement in opposition Obama delivering the 2009 Spring Commencement address. In doing so the ND CRs reaffirmed there commitment to the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of life, which, in part, stated:
Each year more than three million American teenagers contract sexually transmitted diseases, causing emotional harm and serious health consequences, even death. We support efforts to educate teens and parents about the health risks associated with early sexual activity and provide the tools needed to help teens make healthy choices. Abstinence from sexual activity is the only protection that is 100 percent effective against out-of-wedlock pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including sexually transmitted HIV/AIDS. Therefore, we support doubling abstinence education funding. We oppose school-based clinics that provide referrals, counseling, and related services for contraception and abortion.

Unlike Ben Stewart, it looks like the Chapter Chair at Notre Dame knows what to do when Obama comes to campus. Maybe he should run for CRNC Chair too…

Why be so whiny about it…Bitching about his visit doesn’t solve anything…It is just creating party wars.
And do you see their statement? I wish the Republican party can get away from these “moral” issues and stuff like that…Stop trying to dictate peoples lives, how they should live, and using religion to make arguments.
