UMaine CRs attacked by former chapter secretary

Kyle Michaud used to be the secretary for the University of Maine CRs. Not anymore. And apparently, he did not leave CRs on good terms or with good feelings, writing a column about the “UMaine College Republicans engaging in questionable conduct”: The students of this campus ought to know...

Two Missouri College Republicans, Nick Maddux of Missouri State University (Missouri Vice-Chair) and Nathan Starmer of Missouri Southern University (Chapter Chair) recently crashed the Missouri College Democrat convention armed with nothing but a video camera.

Using raw footage from their adventure, two videos were made. The first is titled Behind Enemy Lines and is described on YouTube as:

Two College Republicans go behind enemy lines to bring you the highlights and the goings-on at the Young Democrats of Missouri Annual Convention. If you are a Republican this video will make you laugh, if you are a democrat it may make you cry. But if you are an American, you will undoubtedly cringe.

The second video is titled Double Standards and is described on YouTube as follows:

Double Standards highlights the hypocrisy of the liberal left in America today. From voter I.D. laws to the environmental movement liberals are full of lies and double standards. Just watch the video and find out for yourself.

Both videos can be watched below. After you watch them, be sure to share your thoughts.

Brought to you popular demand, I present to you Greg Baker – former Chairman of the Iowa College Republicans – speaking out against a back-door tactic to raise taxes on Iowa citizens supported by, you guessed it, Iowa Democrats.

Perhaps a better summary, the description of the video on YouTube reads:

Iowa Federation of College Republican Chairman Greg Baker speaks out against the Iowa House Democrats’ attempts to eliminate federal deductibility, thus essentially creating a tax on a tax.

The San Francisco State University College Republicans were recently featured in an article appearing in the San Francisco Chronicle. In the article some complain about the SFSU CRs “going too far” and “being disrespectful”. Well, I’m sorry if College Republicans are the “go-along get-along” types.

Here’s the article.

So, Young America’s Foundation (YAF) sponsored a video contest where a student would create a video of themselves pushing a petition to redistribute GPA on their campus.

The winner of the contest is University of Oregon student Kenny Crabtree. Here is Mr. Crabtree’s winning video:

Also noteworthy are videos by Hunter Schone and Alyssa Cordova, who placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

UNC at Greensboro CRs host Morals Week

A couple of weeks ago, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro College Republicans held their 6th annual Morals week, which the school newspaper describes as “a weeklong showcase of conservatism on campus with events such as Pro-Life Day, Support Our Troops Day, Joe the Plumber Day, Fine Upstanding Democrat Day and PETA BBQ Day.”

The school newspaper, the Carolinian, reports:

According to the…press release, “the purpose of Morals Week is to provide students with an alternative to the messages that they hear every day. The College Republicans endorse and promote the message that morality and values are absolute, and that Americans need to return to those traditional principles.” By the College Republican’s own admission in their press release, certain events “have sparked outrage and intense controversy.” This year proved to be no different.

If you would like to know just exactly what each day of Moral week entailed, please read the article by the school newspaper. I will, however, provide the newspaper’s description of my favorite day of the week, Joe the Plumber Day. According to the school newspaper:

[On] Joe the Plumber Day, which coincided with the April 15 deadline for filing taxes, College Republican members went around campus asking students if they would like to give up their GPA points to bring up the GPAs of other students.

Fantastic. Great job UNC at Greensboro.

Anyone have any idea who planned this? I’d like to give them a shout out for a job well done.
