Updated: CNN admits using fake CR to attack McCain

As Drudge advertises an article on the main page today that claims media donations are 100-to-1 in favor of Democrats, CNN yesterday proved yesterday that media bias comes in more forms than just political donations by faking quotes from a person falsely alleged to be a CR all in order to attack John...

It is being reported over at The Politico that the every House GOP leader “…has signed a letter today calling on Speaker Nancy Pelosi to open a special session of the House to deal with the oil price crisis.”

It is also being reported that the House GOP leadership has been in negotiations with pro-drilling Dems to get Congress back in session so they can vote on drilling legislation.

Negotiation is only possible because Nancy Pelosi loosened the leash on many House Dems this week, secretly (or not so secretly if we all know) that House Dems from pro-drilling districts can vote for drilling legislation in a staged vote when Congress re-convenes in Sept. If it passes, Pelosi undoubtedly has a deal with Senate Majority leader Harry Reid to block the legislation.

Finally, it is being reported that MoveOn.org has “upped the ante” by announcing yesterday it was launching radio ads targeting Republicans for organizing the protest.

The political theatrics in the House this week are brought to you by the Party that’s been sold to Big Oil,” said Noah T. Winer, a Campaign Director at MoveOn. “They are playing politics instead of offering solutions. Their plan and their actions over the last few days on the floor of the House of Representatives are nothing more than gimmicks.

The radio ads will air in the districts of Republican Reps. Blunt, Pence, Fallin, Culberson, Conaway and Porter. All safe districts by my calculation.

The problem for the Democrats is that the argument for “do everything” is not rocket science. It is common sense. Which is why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, surveying the political rubble resulting from her insistence on not even permitting drilling to come to a floor vote, has quietly told her members that they can save their skins and vote for drilling when the pre-election Congress convenes next month. Pelosi says she wants to save the planet. Apparently saving her speakership comes first.
