Bush rejects defense bill
Saturday, December 29th, 2007Yesterday, President Bush “pocket vetoed” a defense bill because of a provision that would make Iraqi assests in the United States available as damages in lawsuits.
Bush said the legislation “would imperil billions of dollars of Iraqi assets at a crucial juncture in that nation’s reconstruction efforts.”
Bush rejected the bill because he dislikes a provision that […]

The strings the House Democrats attached include (1) troop […]
Berkley CRs protest and debate
Friday, October 19th, 2007Yesterday, the Cal Berkley College Republicans protested anti-war protesters…and outnumbered them! Great news from such a liberal environment.
The Cal Berkley CRs also debated the College Democrats last night. The issue was education. The Berkley CRs advocated for vouchers. A write-up and a picture can be found at the California Patriot.
FYI: I love vouchers.

Extreme rhetoric
Thursday, October 18th, 2007The level of political discourse needs to improve. Both parties have improvements to make. But in this case, a California liberal Democrat makes an ass out of himself on the Floor of the House.
Five year anniversary
Thursday, October 11th, 2007It was five years ago today that the United States Senate voted to authorize military action in Iraq. Barack Obama commemorated the day by releasing this web ad:
Unlike Obama, I don’t look back on that day with regret. Obama apparently considers rescuing a nation from the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein and freeing 26 million […]
Quote of the Day
Monday, October 8th, 2007“Our goal was to tell the truth about the Iraq War and to show that things are going better there and that we can win the war. We feel that we won and we made a very strong successful argument and we hope to continue to influence public opinion.”
Tim Taylor, chair of the BYU College […]
Quote of the Day: Admitting Failure
Saturday, September 29th, 2007We can’t break a filibuster. We spent a lot of time on it. We just didn’t succeed.
